Ethan Update — Tuesday

The bronchial endoscopy they did tonight showed that there was hardly any pus remaining in Ethan’s right lung. This is huge considering Sunday we were told that Ethan could have tuberculosis or a very significant lung problem that could mean a lengthy treatment process, at best.  Tonight the Doctor ruled out TB and said that the infection has been responding very well to the antibiotics and the compacted pus is all basically gone.  What an awesome healer is our God!

If Ethan has a problem free night, he will be released tomorrow and continue antibiotics at home.  We will then follow up with an out patient endoscopy sometime next week to make sure all is completely clear!  We are so relieved and grateful to have received this news tonight!

There are no words to express how blessed and truly supported we have felt by your prayers, shared scriptures and words of encouragement! We covet your continued prayers in the days ahead as Ethan continues to heal!

Amazingly, the serious infection was not related to the flu that turned into pneumonia.  But that illness allowed us to find this infection because of the tests they did.  The pulmanologist is fairly certain he knows what the problem is that caused it.  He recommended that we have the further needed treatment in the United States.  Will tell more about it later.  We are all exhausted tonight.  Ethan is resting comfortably now.  Praying the rest of us will also sleep.

Blessed be the name of the Lord!

It is a joy to serve our Lord with the bride of my youth, Mary, and our children. Our nine kids are not all living at home anymore. One has already completed university and has started her career. One is finishing his master's degree and will start his career soon. One is completing her freshman year at university. That leaves six at home. One of those completes high school this year. Amazing since Mary and I are only 30 years old (at least in our minds).
