“If you look to the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. If you look at God, you’ll be at rest.”~Corrie Ten Boom
Psalm 37:1–5
1 Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers!
2 For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.
6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
How do we learn to trust? Who teaches us? What teaches us? Think about it. How do we learn that we can trust people? Our parents? Our boss?
How do we learn to trust in God?
We build trust in situations that require it. Granted, God gives us faith to trust. But it is in situations that require us to trust God that we learn that He is faithful. We can have faith that He is Who He says He is, but it’s in times when He is proving His trustworthiness that we learn that He is truly faithful.
He brings us to places that require His faithfulness and His power. And we learn.
When we trust in the Lord –> We can delight in the Lord and then –> We commit ourselves to the Lord and thus –> We rest in the Lord.
We will be too blessed to be stressed.
Happy Thanksgiving as we celebrate the faithfulness of our God, our Father, our Papa.
Bless His Name.
